OFF/ON: Everyday Technologies that Changed Our Lives (2022)

Exhibition Design

Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s industrialisation period, the immersive exhibition at National Museum of Singapore was designed to transport visitors back in time to experience technology of the 1970s-2000s.

My team and I designed and oversaw the execution of the full exhibition which comprised of 11 unique settings. This comprised designing the floor plan and flow, generating sketches & specifications for the build of each room, to sourcing and installing each individual prop.

Perennial Paradox (2023)

Installation Art

The rapid evolution of A.I. is both exhilarating and deathly frightening. We've been cautioned, yet, never satiated with the status quo, we chase boundlessly after it anyway. Human nature would have it that the more something eludes us, the more we desire it. We want what we can't and shouldn't have - our Perennial Paradox.

I designed and built an altar as a visual metaphor for our relationship with technology and Artificial Intelligence - embedded within are messages about the irony of human nature which serves as the origin for A.I. in the first place.

Jenevieve and Matthew’s Wedding (2023)

Event Styling / Floristry

Jenevieve and I have worked together as stylists for multiple events, but this time round it was for something much more personal and precious - her wedding!

Jayvan, Jenevieve and I collaborated to arrive at a direction that is at once vibrant, chic and celebratory. All vessels used were hand-made ceramic pieces by Jenevieve herself. The botanical ingredients were mostly local sourced/foraged and chosen for their seasonality.

X, Y and Zain (2021)

Set Design

The educational children’s series X, Y and Zain! followed the adventures of chromosomes X and Y as they ventured through the Human Body of a boy named Zain.

We expressed the control centre of a cell through a mono-coloured set with multiple textures and biomorphic shapes. The set was filmed against a green screen.
